[PGI instructors] Cert/Recert Requirements

I agree that teaching the PGI certification course should count as CE. This
works for the Federal Aviation Administration, so why not the PGI? And,
very honestly, I learn as much preparing for, and teaching the certification
course as I would attending the class taught by another person.

<Personally, I learn and relearn every time I prepare for the course and
give the course. I really enjoy helping people understand the fundamentals
that make our art and <craft so enjoyable.

Amen to that Charlie!

<Which begs the question for us instructors: If we're always teaching the
course, does that count as CE for our own re-certification?

I have always considered that to be a 'yes'. We as trainers get more CE than
'required' in keeping up with changes in regs and codes than most do in the
normal course of pursuing CE.

As to what constitutes qualifying CE, I am of the opinion that it should be
qualified on an individual basis until such time as it gets somehow set as
'policy' by PGI. Having said that I should add that given the
extraordinarily wide assortment of possible 'Qualifying CE' sources, a
policy may not ever be able to be set. Just the few that have been put out
in this discussion in the past two days shows a glimpse at the myriad
possibilities.

Overall - a good and timely discussion so far.

Good Day All,

Mark
